Ramón Garibaldo Valdéz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science. He works on issues around social movements, immigration, Latinx politics, racial politics, ethnographic methods, and collective resistance. His research looks at the ways that immigrant communities in the U.S. actively resist – both through political mobilization and every-day defiance – the marginalizing experiences produced by the U.S. immigration policy regime.
