Senior Academic Affairs AdministratorMeredith Clason works closely with the Director of Academic Appointments & Payroll (Katie Kaftanich) to support all aspects of academic appointment cases that do not require a competitive search (e.g. Visiting Professors, Visiting Scholars, Postdoctoral Researchers); to provide training, support, and troubleshooting assistance to Departmental Affairs administrators on the use of University business systems related to academic appointments; and to support the Dean’s office with communications to academic appointees and related reporting. Before joining the Dean’s team in 2022, Clason was the Faculty Affairs Administrator in the Department of Sociology (2017-2022) and the Associate Director of our interdisciplinary Center for East European and Russian/Eurasian Studies (2005-2017). She holds an M.A. in Slavic Languages & Literatures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.A. in Russian Language & Literature from Mount Holyoke College.
