Christina Klespies identifies short and long term HR goals with unit leadership and oversees allocation of resources to meet priorities. In addition, she develops human resources policies and procedures to help meet strategic goals and oversees their implementation. She also ensures compliance of staff with organizational, university, and other relevant human resources policies and procedures.  She oversees hiring, orientation, performance planning, compensation, staff development, succession planning and employee labor relations, and advises/counsels supervisors and managers on federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. Klespies has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources in Higher Education. Prior to joining the University of Chicago in 2010, Klespies worked at two state universities in Ohio. She holds a BS in Human Resources Management and a Master’s degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Organizational Development and Diversity Management. Klespies has completed doctorate level coursework and is also certified Professional in Human Resources Management through the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).
