Professor Kremer, a pioneer in development economics, has shaped the discipline through the use of field experiments to inform economic models, policy and program development. He is a recipient of the 2019 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel. He leads the Development Innovation Lab, an initiative of the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics.
