Gabriel Rosenberg is a historian who studies the linkages among race, gender, sexuality, and the global food system, particularly in animal agriculture and spaces of agricultural production. His most recent book co-authored with Jan Dutkiewicz, Feed the People! (Basic Books, 2026) pushes back against critiques of industrial food production, arguing that modern technology has made food more affordable, abundant, varied, and tastier than any other time in history. He is currently writing American Flesh, a history of livestock breeding’s relationships to race science, eugenics, and reproductive technology since the eighteenth century. Rosenberg earned his PhD in History from Brown University. Prior to joining the University, he was an Associate Professor at Duke University.
