Clara Kyung is a labor economist specializing in education topics. Her research focuses on policies aimed at improving students' educational attainment and career readiness. Her job market paper evaluates the impacts of funding and incentives for school districts on student outcomes through an analysis of a recent school finance reform in Texas. In another project, she estimates the elasticity of teacher labor supply to a school district using data from Texas. Her work has been supported by the Becker Friedman Institute for Economics at the University of Chicago. 

Clara received her PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2026 and BA in Economics from McGill University in 2019. In the 2026-27 academic year, she will teach courses in econometrics and microeconomics in the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics. 

In her free time, Clara enjoys birdwatching, fiber arts, and playing violin.
