Teaching Fellow in the Social Sciences

Shenghe Ye’s current research takes up efforts in American educational improvement as attempts to work out the relationship between science and democracy. She uses anthropological methods to investigate real-time interactions between researchers, research intermediaries, and teachers; taking a pragmatic approach in identifying the complementary roles of objectivity and trust in ensuring the flow of data and knowledge along specific trajectories within the context of contemporary U.S. education reform.

As a Fellow, she teaches courses on language, culture, and education; the historical development of U.S. educational research; and "Self, Culture, and Society" in the College Core. Ye received her Ph.D. from the Department of Comparative Human Development in August 2021, and holds a BA in linguistics.
