Student Proposal Timeline
2 months before the due date
- Identify program and read solicitation and instructions
- Receive approval to apply from faculty mentor
- Complete any necessary training (e.g., CITI, human subjects)
- Notify Grants Administrator (see below) of intent to apply
- Contact UChicagoGRAD for writing support
- Begin writing narrative
1 month before the due date
- Compile supplementary documents (e.g., biosketches, letters)
- Finalize budget and budget justification
2 weeks before the due date
- Send final application documents to Grants Administrator
- Submit COI assurance in AURA (student and mentor)
- Grants Administrator routes proposal to University Research Administration (URA) for compliance review
1 week before the due date
- Address all URA comments
- Send any corrected documents and final narrative to Grants Administrator
- Review PDF of final proposal package
- Confirm proposal is ready for submission
- URA submits proposal
