The research development team supports faculty research, facilitates interdisciplinary research, and builds organizational partnerships to advance social science research and priority initiatives. Whether you have outlined your specific aims or are just scratching the surface of a new research question, the research development team will work with you to support your research agenda. Contact us early in your project development process to take full advantage of these services.
The Proposal Submission Timeline was designed to provide an overview of the steps and timeline for funding applications.
The research development team provides comprehensive support to faculty in the Division of the Social Sciences (SSD), Crown Family School, and Harris School* throughout the proposal process.
Initial Preparation to Apply
- Find funding opportunities
- Create Pivot account to receive funding alerts
- Update profiles in Research.gov, NIH eRA Commons, etc.
- Provide workshops and training sessions
Project Development
- Identify and coordinate collaborating institutions and researchers
- Develop proposal outlines, budgets, timelines, project management tools, comprehensive funding strategies, and strategic plans
- Advise on all aspects of proposal development including clarity, logic, and organization
- Coordinate internal and external funding strategies with entities across the University
Proposal Review
- Position, edit, and proofread
- Provide access to sample successful proposals
- Coordinate proposal reviews and provide feedback to investigators
Visualization and Graphic Design
- Contract with data visualization providers, graphic designers, and web designers to enhance research proposals and communications collateral
Pre-Award
- Coordinate with SSD, Crown, and Harris Grants Administrators
- Review and confirm compliance*
- Initiate online application*
- Route to University Research Administration*
- Submit to sponsor*
