Funding

We understand that financial resources are critical for promoting academic inquiry and accelerating innovative research. We support groundbreaking social science research by providing seed funding for faculty and research support for graduate students and by highlighting the range of internal and external funding opportunities for social scientists.

We are pleased to offer programs like the Faculty Seed Grant Program designed to catalyze innovative research projects led by SSD faculty and five Student Research Awards—the SSRC Graduate Student Fellows Program, W. Allison Davis Graduate Research Award, Gedvila Family Research Award, David R. and Mady W. Segal Fund for Social Sciences Research on Military Personnel, and Agnes and Nathan Janco Travel Award —that support research in a variety of disciplines across the social sciences.

In addition, we curate Faculty Research Funding Opportunities and Student Research Funding Opportunities lists to provide direction for researchers seeking internal, foundation, and/or federal funding.
