Join us at our 2nd spatial@uchicago OPEN HOUSE & GIS Day to learn about who's doing geospatial work on campus and connect with people and spatial resources! 

Feel free to join whatever session you're interested in if you don't have time to join all sessions.

    Geospatial Analysis of a Chicago Department of Public Health Community Health Worker Program
    This study uses geospatial techniques to assess whether Community Health Workers (CHWs) are focusing on areas with the greatest social need in Chicago and if their engagement topics align with neighborhood health priorities. The research seeks to enhance the effectiveness of the CHW program in addressing health disparities.

    Desert Paradise: Long-Term Water Management and Agriculture in the Hinterlands of Petra, Jordan
    This project explores how ancient inhabitants of Petra managed to thrive in extreme environments. By examining archaeological sites and terracing systems, the study aims to understand long-term landscape changes that supported agriculture and contributed to Petra's success.
