His research and teaching interests are in the political economy of judicial politics, policing and public safety, as well as applied formal theory and statistical methodology.

Provost's Postdoctoral Fellow of Political Science

Ramón Garibaldo Valdéz is a Provost's Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Political Science. He works on issues around social movements, immigration, Latinx politics, racial politics, ethnographic methods, and collective resistance. His research looks at the ways that immigrant communities in the U.S. actively resist – both through political mobilization and every-day defiance – the marginalizing experiences produced by the U.S. immigration policy regime.

Assistant Professor of Political Science

Anton Strezhnev's research focuses on applied quantitative methodology, with an emphasis on developing methods for reliable causal inference in observational settings and descriptive analysis of network data. Substantively, he studies international organizations, the empirical analysis of law, and the governance of global trade and investment.

Jon Rogowski
Jon Rogowski Areas of Study: Department of Political Science
Professor of Political Science; Faculty Director, MA Programs

Jon Rogowski’s research focuses broadly on American politics, with specific interests in political institutions, political economy, and the American presidency. His current research projects focus on executive branch politics and the presidency in the contemporary and historical periods.

As MA Programs Faculty Director, Professor Rogowski leads a strategic review and renewal of the division’s MA programs, working closely with faculty and program directors to articulate each program’s pedagogical mission, to evaluate operations and strategy, and to consolidate their position within the division.
