Sarah Davies Breen is the Director of Academic Appointments and Faculty Affairs for the Division of Social Sciences. In this role she provides insight and guidance to both leadership and staff regarding all academic appointment procedures, ensuring the alignment of Divisional practice with the needs of the Provost's Office. Sarah works collaboratively with faculty and staff in departments, centers, adminstrative units, and in the Provost's Office to manage the Division's academic affairs. Sarah also supports the Dean and Deputy Dean on special initiatives in faculty affairs, which aim to enhance faculty life and faculty career development.
Prior to joining the Division, Sarah served as the Manager of Research Fellows and Award Administration at the Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Society at the University of Chicago, where she managed the Collegium’s Global Visiting Fellows and Faculty Research Awards programs. Sarah also previously worked in her hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota, at an international exchange student organization and in undergraduate admissions at a private, liberal arts college. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin and a certificate in Project Management from the Graham School of Continuing Studies at the University of Chicago.
