Geographic Studies Club

Who We Are

The University of Chicago Geographic Studies Club (UCGEO) is a general-interest student-led group for undergraduate students to explore the world from the classroom by learning geography and geographic information science through a rich program of engaging activities. UCGEO offers the following opportunities for all members:

  1. To attend weekly meetings (during the academic year) on a breadth of geographic subjects according to the weekly theme.
  2. To participate in team-based geography trivia, Geoguessr, and other activities during club sessions.
  3. To discuss all things geography with peers passionate about the subject.
  4. To sample international culinary offerings via free, weekly, catered food and drink options.
  5. To visit Chicago-based geographic institutions and exhibits unique to the city, such as map collections, museums, and galleries.
  6. To attend original lectures hosted by guest speakers in relevant fields

Schedule

Our regular weekly programming takes place on Mondays from 7-8pm in Cobb Hall 402. Average attendance ranges between 25-35 students per meeting. For field trips, guest lectures, and other events, times and registration signups are announced in advance.
