Lunch and Screening of "PTSD: Beyond Trauma"

This is a lunch screening, and discussion event. The film, PTSD: Beyond Trauma, is a documentary about PTSD featuring the work of UChicago's Healing Hurt People program, led by Brad Stolbach. Filmmaker Andrea Schmidt and Patrick Reed will be in attendance along with the film subjects, survivors of childhood trauma who have participated in Healing Hurt People and Project Fire.

This screening is part of the Decoding the Complexity of Trauma Symposium, which brings together urban scholars from diverse disciplines from across the University of Chicago campus as we collectively prepare for the challenges and opportunities represented by the creation of the new Adult Trauma Center.

The screening will be preceded by two panel discussions by 3 or 4 faculty experts from varied disciplines followed by a moderated conversation including them and the audience.

Symposium 1, 9:15am - 10:45am: A panel on urban trauma, featuring Doriane Miller (moderator), Margaret Beale Spencer, Gary An, Dexter Voisin, and Royce Lee.

Symposum 2, 11:00am - 12:30pm: A panel on themes related to structural violence featuring Selwyn Rogers, Herschella Conyers, Micere Keels, and Brad Stohlbach (moderator.)
