Jennifer researches the social contexts of education, race/ethnicity, and stratification. Currently, she uses qualitative research methods to examine racial contexts of the K-12 school choice process and the experiences of high school students and families navigating middle school choice. At Columbia University, she earned a MA in Sociology and Education and researched the racial implications of school choice processes by interviewing BIPOC students navigating public and elite, private high school admissions in New York City.
