Teaching Fellow in the Social Sciences

Jaewoong is a Social Science Teaching Fellow in the Department of History and the College. His work focuses on the history of capitalism in Korea and Taiwan, approaching them from the perspective of contemporary issues in the capitalist world. His many interests include precarity and creativity within the current mode of global economy, addictive commodities such as tobacco and sugar, comparative world history, and the Confucian classics. Before his PhD in history, he studied anthropology at the University of Chicago, area studies at Seoul National University, and economics at Chung-Ang University in Korea.
