Ashley Elizabeth Drake received herPhD in Comparative Human Development from the University of Chicago in 2020. Drake is a cultural and medical anthropologist with research interests in human-animal interaction, science and technology studies, and military studies. Her current book projectexplores how the U.S. Military develops and deploys human-animal affective relationships as biotechnological equipment in combat zones, particularly through the use of dog-handler detection teams.
