Luke Clohisy won the award for the Best Social Sciences Presentation for his poster Memory for Popular Music: Evidence for Widespread Tempo Abilities at the Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium. CAURS is one of the largest annual undergraduate research conferences in the country with undergraduate researchers from across all academic disciplines.
Uriel Heller and Clara Sava-Segal each received Psi Chi Regional Research Awards for best undergraduate research paper presented at the Midwestern Psychological Association meeting. Their papers were chosen from among 800 undergraduate submissions to the MPA conference. Heller’s paper is “Thinking in a Foreign Language Promotes Acceptance of Mental-Health Services in Ethnic Minorities” and Sava-Segal’s is “Unconscious Processing of Approximate Number in the Human Visual System.”
The students will be recognized at the Department of Psychology’s annual Honors Day on Thursday, May 17, 2018.
